BIOGRAPHY - REG PIERCE III
Reginald F. Pierce III was born and raised in Connecticut as the oldest of seven children. Graduating secondary school, Reg graduated from Williams College where he lettered for four years in football, played lacrosse in his freshman year, was elected President of his residential house and authored an honors thesis on The Life of Ebenezer Fitch, Williams College's first President. He then was commissioned an Officer in the U.S. Navy after graduation from Officer Candidate School. Reg received an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1976.
A life long competitive sailor in both one-design and off-shore racing yachts, Reg was invited to crew aboard COURAGEOUS (US 12 22) in 1974 and again aboard INDEPENDENCE (US 12 28) in 1977. COURAGEOUS defeated SOUTHERN CROSS from Australia to win the 1974 America's Cup. Other international sailing experience included a Transatlantic Race, 3 Newport-Bermuda Races, the San Francisco Big Boat Series, 2 Congressional Cup Series, North American Lighting Nationals, 2 Southern Ocean Racing Circuits and many 100-mile plus races on or near Long Island Sound. Today, he crews aboard INTREPID US 12 22 off Newport, RI.
Reg began his business career in account management at Dancer, Fitzgerald & Sample (DFS) Advertising in 1977. He ran an independent marketing firm in Connecticut before being recruited as VP, Marketing at Nutri-Systems in Pennsylvania in 1991. In 1993, he moved to Commonwealth Risk, a division of Mutual Risk Management (NYSE MRM) as VP Marketing and Communications where he learned the insurance business and earning hos ARM designation. In 2002, he left MRM with seven MGA clients to form In Market Partners before being recruited to Bailey Brand Consulting where he headed up New Business Development including the acquisition three major insurance companies and numerous other non-insurance entities. In 2010, Reg joined his client Breckenridge Insurance Group (BIG) where he launched Target Programs Marketing Services (TPMS) to service TMPAA MGA members of this BIG subsidiary.
Reg is married to Kay Crosland Pierce, has three grown children and five grandchildren all living in Pennsylvania. He and his bride, KayC, reside in West Chester, PA.
